Become a Toucan Superhero

Superhero Children.png

Inspired by the 2.6 Challenge campaign and the theme 'Heroes at Home' we wanted to find a way to recognise all of those people being heroes at home. From staying in to protect us all and our front line workers to parents becoming home school teachers. It is a challenging time for us all and our children so most of all we wanted to have some fun!

By Joining the Toucan for Children Superhero campaign you can help us raise vital funds so we will be able to continue to support children who are experiencing emotional difficulties in their lives after the pandemic. Children's mental health matters and the need for our service is growing and will only increase during this time. Help us be there for more children who need and will need our support.

How can I take part?

Taking part is about having some fun and In keeping with the Heroes theme we want to build the Toucan virtual superhero wall. Superheroes come in all shapes and sizes and teams from Batman and Robin, The Avengers to Sonic and Tails. So send us a picture or film of your superhero, you can dress up, paint a picture or get creative with whatever you have around the house and build something.

All you need to do is tag Toucan for Children in a post on Facebook or send your picture to us and we will put it on the wall with who you would like to recognise as your hero. If you can please make a donation to our superhero campaign (big or small) and nominate more heroes at home to get involved!

We need your support now more than ever..

We are a small local charity and like so many other charities, are facing huge challenges at this time. The service has had to temporarily close to ensure the safety of all of the children we support and our team. So not only our income is affected but our ability to deliver the much needed support to children who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Many children had their therapy interrupted and so many more are waiting for much needed help.

Mental health problems affect 1 in 8 children and young people, which may result in depression, anxiety and often conduct disorder. The team of therapists at Toucan offer children a safe place to explore and work-through those feelings and behaviours that are causing upset and difficulties in their lives. We need to ensure this service is still available to children after this pandemic. Together we can find a way, two-can do it!

So, whatever you plan to do, thank you. Your help will make a huge difference to the lives of so many children and will make sure we are around to help those who need us now and in the future.
