Improving children's mental health. Improving children's lives.
Toucan for Children supports children and young people who are experiencing emotional difficulties in their lives through providing therapeutic services using play and creative arts. Based in Gloucestershire we offer play therapy at our centre in Mitcheldean and outreach work in schools.
Mental health problems affect 1 in 8 children and young people, which may result in depression, anxiety and often conduct disorder. The team of therapists at Toucan offer children a safe place to explore and work-through those feelings and behaviours that are causing upset and difficulties in their lives.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, we are continuing our work to keep both our clients and staff safe.
At this time our staff will be wearing masks / visors as suits both the clients and the therapists. This is now an optional choice for those in the room. at each session.
We have a Covid Secure Policy in place and continue to maintain the cleanliness of our facilities to a high standard. All our staff have been vaccinated and we continue to test on a regular basis.
We recently refreshed our playrooms by redecorating and updating the resources we have on offer.
We are accepting referrals, and start sessions for new clients as quickly as possible.
Please email us with any questions, concerns or enquiries.
A copy of our SDQ and referral form can also be found on our contact us page here.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
I am a mother of three children who have attended Toucan. My experience with Toucan has been fantastic! My children have benefited greatly from their sessions and thus have been able to deal with their emotional difficulties after the breakdown of our family.
I have found the staff to be very friendly and easy to talk to; they have not only supported my children but given myself an great deal of emotional support too! Thank you to all of you.
I have found the therapeutic input from Toucan has really helped the young people we look after. It gives them space to deal with some of the confusing things that have happened to them and makes life a bit clearer. It is a brilliant, excellent and an essential resource.
